Sally Mary is our original co-founder. During the housing fall out in 2010, she lost her home during her service to her fellow Veterans at the Seattle VA Hospital. The humbling moment of becoming homeless with two young children made her determined to impact change in the way her fellow Veterans receive help with housing services from the VA. She is the reason we have kept the VCHC program going. Not only has she given hundred of service hours, she has funded over 50% of other services provided.
Eugene is our other co-founder. He has made sure all the "Tt(s)" have been crossed and all the "Ii(s)" have been dotted. He has an interesting story about his homelessness that he will share later. He has been an amazing peer and technical support for VCHC. He goes by "Igmu" to some and "the Guy" your guy calls when your guy can't figure your techie stuff.
Carlos has been one of our longest member and peer support. Despite his own challenges, he has made himself available to assist every chance he has. He maintains his recovery goals and helps mentors those who have shared the same obstacle. He dreams of a day like center where other Veterans can have fellowship and dance. Carlos is a drummer and he loves music. He is also a DJ and it has been one of his motivating factors that keeps him going.
